Wide Open Road 2024

In September this year, Josh Bowes, Michael Lelliott, Phillip Edwards, Kristeena Saville, and Peter Gandrabur, road tripped to outback NSW to paint and create new art inspired by the fauna, flora and devastatingly unique landscape & spiritual connections to country & history that is Lake Mungo.

In September 2023 Michael Lelliott completed a works on paper series with artists Phillip Edwards and Peter Gandrabur on location and inspired by Bimbowrie and Mutawintji

My work explores the nature of our connectedness with all things. it’s an ongoing dialogue with the experience of being alive. I document the resilience of the Australian landscapes, the persistence of memory, the subtle heart beats of our relational encounters and believe that when we practise slowing down and listeni we have a chance to witness the magic that unfolds when we pay attention.
